. | A series Earthquake Shear Testing at Specialized Testing Labs in Los Angeles, CA. Tri-Chord wall panels built with 20 gauge. Tri-Chord Studs way out-performed 16 gauge. Cee studs. Testing parameters were set within 1/10 of a 14 gauge. Cee stud. Tri-Chord passed these tests on all panels. |

This 3-1/2" Tri-Chord wall on 24" center is being moved into test chamber and is ready for Transmission Loss testing at Acoustic Research Austin, Texas. Tri-chord received an very high (STC 52) rating on this test. STC ratings are used to document the ability of walls to control sound between party walls, laundry rooms, bathrooms, anywhere interior sound is a concern. This test also documented an (OITC 35) rating for outdoor to indoor sound transmission. OITC ratings are important for construction near airports, freeways, trains or anywhere outdoor to indoor sound is a concern. |
